About Jordan Ring-Sakabe

If you had told a younger Jordan Ring-Sakabe that he would one day be a devout Catholic artist painting sacred icons in Utah, he probably would have laughed. For years, Jordan was a staunch atheist, firmly convinced that the material world was all there was. But God clearly has a sense of humor. In 2022, following the birth of his oldest daughter, a series of undeniable, life-altering experiences completely flipped his worldview on its head, leading him straight into the arms of the Catholic Church.

Grateful for this unexpected plot twist, Jordan traded his secular focus for a calling to serve Christ through beauty. Today, he splits his time between classical Christian oil painting and the ancient art of Byzantine iconography.

In an effort to employ beauty as a means for evangelism, Jordan’s first goal is to share his testimony of Jesus Christ and the good news of the gospel through his artwork. His oil paintings, rich with color, texture and theological considerations, bring scriptural moments to life, while his icons are written in a spirit of quiet, prayerful tradition.
